You're still pregnant?

Ah, yes... those words were spoken to me today as my OB walked in for my check-up. It makes you giggle just a little to know that I had more contractions when I was on the medicine than I have since I've been off... oh goodness. Anyway, no significant change in my cervix, so I set up another appointment for next week. Could I be that person that carries twins to term??!! Only time will tell... Thanks for all the sweet thoughts and prayers! XOXO

5 pounders, get your 5 pounders!

Hooray! We had an ultrasound growth check on the babies today and were so happy to hear that they are both measuring a hefty 5 lbs. 13 ozs. They are right on track! I am starting to dilate more and will be able to stop taking the medicine to slow the contractions on Monday, as we will be 36 weeks then. So... here's thinking that maybe by the end of next week, we will be able to love on these babies in person! I really appreciate all the continued prayers and well-wishes. These babies will never know how much they are loved...

Excited anticipation...

Thanks be to God for the blessings of this pregnancy! We are almost through our 34th week, which was the last big milestone to reach in the overall health of the twins. While we are both a little sad to know that this journey is about to end, we know that an even better one awaits us. We are so very excited to meet these sweet little ones... Thanks for all the continued prayers! XOXO

Another week of incubation... complete!

Today I am VERY thankful that we've had a successful week of extra "incubation" for the babies. The medicine really seems to help control the frequency of my contractions. I had a check-up with my OB (I go back every week now) and she seems pleased with how we're doing. Nothing new to report, except that we're still chuggin' along, hoping to make it to at least 36 weeks! The babies are still incredibly active, which I really enjoy. Each day I just get more and more excited about their arrival. Mom says its like knowing that we are going to win the lottery in just a few weeks... we can't wait! So thanks for all of the continued prayers... they are certainly working. God is taking such good care of us... XOXO

32 weeks of thankfulness...

So sorry for the terrible delay in my updates. I should have plenty of time to share now that I will be home more. We had a little excitement this week that resulted in an overnight stay at the hospital... apparently, the contractions that I've been having were more than just Braxton-Hicks, so we are now on some medication to slow the frequency. I am also now "taking it easy" at home. Please keep those prayers coming that we can make it to the 35-36 week mark to ensure healthy, strong babies (without a NICU stay)!! We are thankful that God continues to bless us with amazing medical care and solutions. Below are some pictures from our ultrasound on Wednesday. Both babies are doing well... I think they were thinking they were at a slumber party or something at the hospital because they certainly were BUSY! Griffin (the top photo) weighed in at 4 lbs. 7 oz. and Claire (bottom photo) is not far behind at 4 lbs. 5 ozs. Griff has his face pushed into the placenta, so this is the best picture we could get. Poor babies; they are running out of room! :) So, we are getting ready, as it seems these babies may make a grand entrance a little sooner than expected... we are rejoicing in each day as we know that we are one day closer to healthier babies!

30 weeks??!!

Seriously? We are already here at the end of the 30 week mark? I can't believe how quickly time has passed, but I must say I am pretty excited that we get to meet these little ones soon. All is well... passed my glucose tolerance test and I'm feeling great... a little tired, but wonderful all the same. We have been blessed by our friends and family during our three showers over the past few weeks. I have posted a "best of" collection of pictures. Thanks so much for everyone's love and generous support... we are so grateful. We go back for a repeat ultrasound on Oct. 16th, so I will post more pictures then. Enjoy this beautiful fall weather!

To the nursery we go!

Ah, after a couple of months of work, the nursery is finished... and we couldn't be happier about how it turned out. Yes, it is a little crazy, it certainly fits our personalities just right. We hope you enjoy the pictures (some before, during and after) as much as we enjoyed creating this room for our little peanuts.

24 weeks and growing!

Hard to believe that we have passed the 24 week mark. This time is going by so quickly! Fall is just around the corner, and these babies will be here before we know it. We certainly can't wait to meet them! We went to the doctor last Friday for an ultrasound check-up to see how the babies are growing. Our little ladybug is right on track, weighing in at a hefty 1 lb. 9 oz. Little man is measuring a week ahead of schedule and weighing in at 1 lb. 10 oz. I think he is going to be tall like his Daddy! Both babies are active and growing well... we are sending more prayers of thankfulness for our continued blessings. My rate of weight gained slowed over the past two weeks, and I am feeling great, although I am starting to feel the lack of "extra" room around my rib cage.

The image above is Little Man's large foot with long toes... oh dear!
Above is a front view of our little girl, Claire's face.  I can't even begin to imagine how it will feel to see her in person!
Another profile picture of our little boy, Griffin.

Truly, we are having a blast talking and thinking about these new members of our family. It's hard not to stop by the baby section at any store that we go to... just to see if there if something that the babies may need. We've been trying to stock up on little things like diapers, wipes and diaper cream. We try to read to the babies as much as possible... they both seem to like when Jason reads Dr. Seuss books to them. Although it may just be a coincidence, our little girl started to kick the other day when Jason greeted me in the morning.
We are quickly trying to complete the "to-do" list of "before-the-babies-get-here" tasks so that upon their arrival, we can relax for some serious lovin' and baby rockin'. Our goal is to finish the nursery this weekend, so if all goes as planned, I will have completed pictures to post soon.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and good wishes!

Thankful for 20 week blessings!

God continues to remind us of how miraculous this whole experience is, and we are so thankful for His blessings! We visited our OB for a 20 ultrasound and full fetal assessment. Our ultrasound tech was awesome and showed us healthy lips, brains, kidneys, spines, femurs... we are so thankful for healthy babies! Both babies are getting more and more active, although, so far they are wonderful babies who don't wake their mom at night.... let's hope we can keep them on their current schedule! :)
Below are some pictures from today's ultrasound. Our little girl was a bit too wiggly to catch, although we did get one picture of her (she is the one looking down, spine up). I'm afraid that she is going to be small but mighty. Little man tried so hard to be a good boy for the ultrasound tech, but his sister kept kicking him (the beautiful profile picture is his). At one time, we even saw her sitting on his head. Oh goodness...

Jason's dream of raising his son to be an NFL kicker just might come true. It seems our baby boy has inherited his father's feet. Poor thing... shoe shopping will never be easy.

I'm sorry to say that I think I will be cutting out the Fruity Cheerios for a special treat only. Frankly, I'm still a little surprised at the amount of weight that I gained, so I'm going to be doing my best to slow that down. I am happy to say that our little girl is 13 ounces and our little boy is 14 ounces. Both babies are right on track.

We are still working on the nursery. I will post pictures of the finished product as soon as we can.
Thanks for your prayers! I'll keep the updates coming! Halfway there!!!!
