I had no idea...

I didn't know a year ago how different my life would be...  Crazy and busy and terrific.  I didn't know how much I'd love these two little precious gifts entrusted to us.  I didn't know how full my heart could be.  How a simple smile, sticky hands reaching to offer a bite, belly laughs, and open-mouth kisses could bring such joy.  I dreamt of you and prayed for you, but never, ever could I have imagined how truly wonderful you would be.  Thanks be to God, for His works are wonderful!  Happy 1st birthday, Griffin and Claire.  We are so thankful that you are a part of this world...

Come on springtime!!!!

The babies are 4 months old on Thursday... my goodness time flies!  They are both so much fun!  We are anxiously awaiting their first "roll" from back to front.  Claire will "roll" from her belly to her back and both babies will get turned on their sides, so close to rolling over that we hold our breath each time thinking it will happen.  They are holding their heads much more steady and both enjoy playing in their Bumbo seats.  Claire has had a few nights recently where she has slept the entire night through!  Now if we could just get Griffin on board, we'd be set!  We are really looking forward to spring and loved the little taste of the warm weather that we had a while ago.... took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and took our first stroller ride around the neighborhood!  Let's hope it gets warm again here soon!  XOXO

Well, it only took me 3 months...

Whew!  Does anyone know where the last three months have gone??!!  Our beautiful twins arrived on November 18, and life has been a whirlwind ever since!  I knew we'd be busy, but seriously?!  Claire and Griffin have filled our lives with so much love and joy.  What did we ever do without them?  They are growing so quickly and are really starting to turn into little people.  The smiles happen frequently and they are both starting to "talk" and giggle.  I can't think of anything better than seeing their dreamy faces everyday.  I go back to work next week, so we will have a new routine to establish.  Anyway, I will post some pictures from the past several weeks and vow to try to update the blog more frequently.  XOXO

You're still pregnant?

Ah, yes... those words were spoken to me today as my OB walked in for my check-up. It makes you giggle just a little to know that I had more contractions when I was on the medicine than I have since I've been off... oh goodness. Anyway, no significant change in my cervix, so I set up another appointment for next week. Could I be that person that carries twins to term??!! Only time will tell... Thanks for all the sweet thoughts and prayers! XOXO

5 pounders, get your 5 pounders!

Hooray! We had an ultrasound growth check on the babies today and were so happy to hear that they are both measuring a hefty 5 lbs. 13 ozs. They are right on track! I am starting to dilate more and will be able to stop taking the medicine to slow the contractions on Monday, as we will be 36 weeks then. So... here's thinking that maybe by the end of next week, we will be able to love on these babies in person! I really appreciate all the continued prayers and well-wishes. These babies will never know how much they are loved...

Excited anticipation...

Thanks be to God for the blessings of this pregnancy! We are almost through our 34th week, which was the last big milestone to reach in the overall health of the twins. While we are both a little sad to know that this journey is about to end, we know that an even better one awaits us. We are so very excited to meet these sweet little ones... Thanks for all the continued prayers! XOXO

Another week of incubation... complete!

Today I am VERY thankful that we've had a successful week of extra "incubation" for the babies. The medicine really seems to help control the frequency of my contractions. I had a check-up with my OB (I go back every week now) and she seems pleased with how we're doing. Nothing new to report, except that we're still chuggin' along, hoping to make it to at least 36 weeks! The babies are still incredibly active, which I really enjoy. Each day I just get more and more excited about their arrival. Mom says its like knowing that we are going to win the lottery in just a few weeks... we can't wait! So thanks for all of the continued prayers... they are certainly working. God is taking such good care of us... XOXO
